Think this LJ thing will ever catch on?

5:40AM - Posted using TxtLJ

I should have done this years ago

5:00AM - Dawn of Mega Man

Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow ~Got the lousy ending 3 years ago, but got the less bad ending the other day [unlocking Julius Mode!] and the good ending today. I'll probably play Julius mode and collect the rest of the crap in the game, I'm at 98.*% completion.

Mega Man 9: Beat it the day it came out, but I got the no continue achievement as well as all enemies defeated Ach. the other day.

TLO Zelda: Phantom Hourglass was defeated about a month or so ago, but there's still extra crap to gather in the gang.

Where to next? So damn many. CV: Order of Ecclesia still playing, and probably won't buy anything until Super Street Fighter IV comes out.

1:30AM - Rondo of Blecch

This coming weekend will see myself participating in one of the most significant events of my life, the Detroit Marathon. I'll be running with @hagaki (fuckin Twitter), but am still quite anxious for this thing.

Never before in my life, even when I signed up for this thing, did I imagine I could run a damned marathon. Hell, up to about 2 years ago, running the square mile perimeter around my parents house seemed ridiculous. Still though, the most I have ran in prep for this race is 15 miles (still damned good for me), but I really do not want to disappoint myself in this one.

If I finish this damn thing (my main goal anyway), it will essentially shatter any insecurities I have had about myself for the past 25 years (or at least since 3rd grade; I remember telling my Little League Baseball coach in 1993 that I was fat. 9 years old for cripes sake; he just kind of chuckled and told me to cut down on those beers I was drinking :P ). Beyond this though, I believe I do have enough confidence that I will finish this fuckin race come hell, high detroit river water, or juggalos (I'm going to Hallowicked, what!? yep.)

I could get into this even more, but I'll use this time to post more about my life, in this here livejournal that no one uses anymore (yeah yeah let's get over it).

~I have a girlfriend; we have been together for 6 months though I've known her for almost 3 years.

~I have been living with my current roomates for a year now.

~Still with my current job of a year and a half.

One more thing I just want to touch on is that I sort of relived past Saturdays of my life this past Saturday by recreating some things I did years ago. These included:

-Stopping by Universal Lanes, where I bowled every Saturday at noon during the school year from 1993-2001 (BTW I am in a Doubles League in Plymouth with some guys from work now; bowled a 224 last week! Highest league game ever! I almost had a 600 series!) It seems there is no more league there at noon on Saturdays though; possibly shut it down when the current owners acquired the place a few years back.

-Watching Spartans football at my parents house.

-Played some Mega Man 7 as well as 8.

-Attended 5:00 mass at St. Louise (which is actually being remodeled, and had mass in the annex building or whatever, creating a new Saturday memory for me!)

-Ate some Taco Bell for dinner.

-Went to Oakland Mall.

My parents weren't around, I just tended their house while they were on a bus trip. They've been on these since 2002; I remember the 2002 time as Mark came over for a night of doing stuff like talking to Bill Mance and Brian Reed on AIM.

As I pointed on Facebook, I once passed on buying Castlevania: Dracula X from Babbage's at Oakland in 1998, for $12. Yeah, I didn't have the money, but I could have asked my dad, payed him back eventually. I really wanted to play that this weekend too, and possibly Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. I have Yoshi's Island for GBA, but I really want to play the SNES version (I know I am picky). Since stupid me has no copy of C: DX, I am just listening to some of the music on YouTube now. That's about all I feel like saying right now.

6:15AM - 7-Eleven: Morphine Slurpee

Remember this? I didn't bother posting this in '07 because I forgot to (I think I had 2 slurpees). I didn't bother in '08 because I forgot about 7/11 entirely. This year, I didn't forget, however it was highly uneventful. No, I didn't log all the 7-Elevens I visited, but it would seem highly in vain had I did, because only ONE I went to had the free Slurpees, out of like 10 I went to. 15 and Ryan 7-Eleven, you are the best, at about 10:45 PM, I got the free Slurpee with half Bumblebee, half Artillery whatever. And they had plenty of cups to go! All the other 7-Elevens were out, even the one at 9 and Campbell (close to the asplosion!) was out by 1:33 PM!!! Anyway, here's a pic, in front of a 7-Eleven that I didn't even go in at 17 1/2 and Van Dyke:

BTW, going to all the 7-Elevens wasn't completely out of way, as I made my final destination at Dooley's in Sterling Heights for the UFC 100. Lesnar holy heck.

1:29AM - Remembering Michael

Michael Jackson's passing is, right now, one of the most surreal things to happen at any moment in my life. There is so much that I can and don't know what to say about him (Speechless). For me, Michael was so much. Beyond a performer, beyond an entertainer, he just transcended everything that we know. All child molestation charges aside, I am going to look at my Michael Jackson memories.

Let's start with just my name, if facebook didn't already change it, my middle name is Michael. Yes, it was really named after Jackson, with Paul coming from Paul McCartney.

Apparently, when I was really little, I really liked the part in the Beat It video when the garage doors opened up. You read that right.

For the Black or White video, I thought Michael really did go to the top of the Statue of Liberty. When someone told me that the arm was blocked off so people couldn't enter, I told them that Michael Jackson went up there!

HIStory, I remember when that came out. I didn't realize until years later that it was a double album, with the first part being a best of collection and the second all new songs. So for a while, I only listened to the old stuff, but later on I listened and appreciated the rest of the album. You must listen to Stranger in Moscow if you even have a remote resemblance of appreciation for Michael's work. It may be his best song he ever wrote.

For the longest time for the Black or White song, I thought a remix of it I had on cassette was the real version.

Man, I can keep going on and on. Especially for 1998 and 2002, I had some real MJ kicks at these periods of my life. I nicknamed a friend Billie Jean in '98, in 2002 I was MJ for Halloween, and I started the tradition of listening to Thriller every Friday the 13th. I created a CD of his music to play over the loudspeaker at work, went around saying "HEE HEE!" to everyone, and was just all out MJ crazy.

Probably my favorite moment of all was in 2007. I was in Las Vegas, and as it happened, so was MJ. At Ceasar's Palace, a group of people had crowded around a toy store in the Forum or whatever it's called. The store was shut down though. I immediately thought, "Michael Jackson must be in there," and I was right. He was in there shopping, the store had been closed just for him. From what I could see, it looked like he was buying a magic kit :). I tried to take pictures with my phone, but they didn't really come out. Stupid me though, my mom had her real video camera with her that we could have used.

To talk more about the music, I just really enjoyed all his work. Not just Thriller, Bad, and Off the Wall, but even stuff like Invincible and Blood on the Dance Floor as well. Yes, Dangerous too, and even his earlier solo and Jackson 5 work. 2000 Watts, Stranger in Moscow as stated above, Workin' Day and Night, Who Is It, these are possibly my favorite of all Michael's songs.

P.S. Some other songs right now to listen to are Cry, Earth Song, You Are Not Alone, Man in the Mirror, and Heaven Can Wait.

2:53AM - Chase

Yeah I did beat Silent Hill 2 last June. Yesterday (Mother's Day) I beat Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, then promptly gave the game to my bro for his b-day gift.

Also, an update to this entry:

Insmection of pictures notes that the Ninja! year was actually 1994, so Pirate must be 1993. Also, I was apparently a cat in 1986.

4:20AM - 4:20

4/20/2009, 10 years since Bishop Foley Columbine.

Oh, and I finally got a Nintendo Developers' System Lite today. I already owned CastleVania: Dawn of Sorrow, beating it on Mark's original Nintendo Dual Screen. I then recently purchased the Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and Ninja Gaiden Dragon, but I haven't played them yet. I played Contra 4 which I got today, and just popped in CV:DoS for a sec. Coming with the system was CastleVania: Order of Ecclesia (Ecclesiastes), and I believe I ordered Ultimate Mortal Kombat, but it hasn't come in yet.
